The formation of the Astara railway terminal located in the territory of Iran has strongly impacted in increase of the cargo flow in the direction of Iran. The capacity of the terminal will be more than 2 mln tons per year and it will give great opportunities for the development of this direction. The current complex includes grain, container and dry cargo terminal. The formation of the current terminal led to the optimization of the station and customs expenses, which was the main cause for the interests of the companies carrying cargo in the direction of Iran from Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia, Georgia.
